Next Step was established in 1988 because there wasn't a safe, caring place for women facing unexpected pregnancies to find confidential support about all their options. The original founders had deep concern for the vulnerable women and families devastated by few options and lack of resources. They needed compassion and practical support. Today, Next Step offers what they didn't have: free and confidential pregnancy decision and support services by expert staff without pressure, cost, or judgement. This equips women to make informed, healthy decisions. Next Step remains 100% donor-funded to preserve its mission, avoid restrictive government mandates, and provide free, confidential care to those who need it most.
